In use of the human, constitutional, inalienable and imprescriptible right to speak well of whoever one wishes, today it is possible to dedicate a few lines and praise to the good old monarchy.
This does not mean in any way the renunciation of the rights and freedoms granted by democracy, nor the direct and universal vote for the election of rulers. On the contrary, being able to speak well of what is essentially opposed to the prevailing form of government is a reaffirmation of its benefits and the freedoms it grants.
Having said the above, the first thing to affirm about the benefits of monarchies is that they are the natural solution to the problems of human groups, that is, when in doubt about which path to take to form a government, the best, simplest and most feasible thing to do is the installation of a good reign. Cinema gives us very good examples with post-apocalyptic worlds. The story too. That is the case of Negro Miguel, who, upon obtaining his freedom by escape, not knowing how to start a new nation of free slaves, proceeded to crown himself king and incidentally make subjects of all his companions in misfortune, now ex-companions.
The truth is that everyone wants to be kings, queens, princesses and princes. The king of pop, of bachata, of cachapa, of fried chicken, of the house, of carnival or of beauty, it doesn't matter what, even if he is a queen of coleus, the important thing is to be important as part of the monarchy. Such is the despair that there is a song that says: with money or without money, I am still the king. The idea of the cacique is a construction of the conqueror who did not conceive that a group of human beings could live and govern themselves in a government system based on the decision of the totality of those present, not on the opinion of a majority, no matter how representative it may be. but that is another topic.
From Hollywood, Boliwood, children's story books, cartoons, and other fantasy sources, we have learned that monarchies are essentially happy kingdoms, (Cinderella, Snow White, Maleficent, Narnia, Asgar, Neverland, El Dorado, Fantasia, Urachiche, and Chivacoa) where everything is fixed with magic, where whenever there is a bad king he is immediately deposed by a good prince who will make all the subjects live happily ever after. In most cases, if an evil man appears, it is a prime minister, a bad adviser, an envious brother, or an evil witch. All of them disappear because of their own evil and immediately everything is fixed. The arrival of the new monarch imposes order and the death of the villain brings peace. That is the reason for the phrase "King dead King post" and already, the solution of the problems of the people in the kingdom.
Another of the advantages of living within a monarchy is shown by show business magazines. It is the monarch's family who squander glamor and the people's money in marriages, baptisms, funerals, yachts, trips, snow, beaches, horses, dogs, houses, all with pomp and shine. But since it is the royal family, everyone enjoys it and some even support it, it is the image of the prosperity of the kingdom and its subjects, not of a network of corruption that involves hundreds of public officials, soldiers in shining armor, nome bankers and thief wizards, none of that! The royal family is in comparison four royal and venerable cats and that's it. They are not so many to steal.
The monarch's family is everyone's family and it hurts everyone, everyone wants to imitate them, that is the goal. They are good people, they are an example to follow and an image of the kingdom. If they are bad, they unite the people against him to overthrow him and put other relatives in his place. This is the case because a complicated social fabric is woven around them with an economic warp and trim.
And the above is the best of having the monarchical form of government: the solid economy. The United Kingdom, Japan, Saudi Arabia, have some of the strongest economies on the planet so it follows that it is an absolute lie that the waste of money made by the royal families bankrupts the country, excuse me, the kingdom.
It is not possible to forget that the happiest places in the world have a king or an individual who believes he is a king, except in Tijuana. On the contrary, some of the saddest places in the world are governed by a democracy. And that happens because democracy is a newly arrived form of government; the Greek efforts were exercises that did not bear much fruit. Only in the last three centuries has democracy appeared with force and it is about consolidating, meanwhile monarchies and kings have evolved for more than two thousand five hundred years, that is, they already know them all, keep memory of the facts and act consequently adapting to the changes of humanity and remain. Conclusion. Only she can give us happiness.
At this point it is necessary to see the assumption, historically denied, that we never separated from Spain. The advantages would be enormous; we would be subjects of the Spanish kingdom, obviously; the trips to Spain would be domestic flights, therefore, very cheap; vacations in Spanish Africa would be tours of remote regions of the country, excuse me, of the kingdom; we would have in the Euro a currency with strength and stability; also a team in the European leagues and we would be a Spain with a lot, but a lot of oil, a true paradisiacal idea.
Detractors of monarchies, kingdoms and empires can say that "democracy is a superior system of government that is based on a set of moral, ethical and social values that are based on the principle of freedom, respect, tolerance, commitment, solidarity, equality , fraternity, justice, sovereignty and participation” but when reviewing the constitutions of the kingdoms, those that have, we find the same words, perhaps with less emphasis, but with equal enthusiasm.
The current monarchies are not few, among them are the United Kingdom, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. There are also the microstates of Liechtenstein, Monaco and Andorra. Among the Arab countries are Morocco, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Malaysia, Brunei, Bhutan, the only one of the Indian subcontinent, Japan, Thailand and Cambodia; finally the African ones, Lesotho and Swaziland. All of them have a practical function, maintaining their role as a symbol of national unity and their arbitral power against the different political parties.
Monarchies adapt to stay, rather than survive; the Aristotelian tradition affirms that the monarchy is the political form in which the supreme power of the State is concentrated in the will of a single person; but that is past; reality is different, the present is different, kings now reign but do not rule, the latter, rule, is done by a political leader or head of government (elected democratically by a relative majority, even against the will of minorities that add more votes) whose actions are controlled by a parliament. Japan is the world's oldest monarchy and has a parliamentary system of government.
Monarchies exist and will continue to exist as long as humans are on this earth or anywhere in the universe (doesn't science fiction predict it?) because in our essence persists the myth of "divine right" that in the past justified the existence of monarchies. the Kings. In the human being, the idea persists that God or the gods choose the king to be in power, and he is only responsible before him or them, that his mind is illuminated by his wisdom, as it happened with the pharaohs of Egypt or the roman emperors. Although it is known that this is a myth, currently, any person would gladly heed the call of a heavenly voice to guide his people towards the fight, win a hundred battles in a hundred years of cruel struggles against injustice and thus be crowned king for make everyone happy forever. That, that does not happen in a democracy.
